Cody Johnson and Brothers Osborne have released a new duet titled “Born and Raised Hell,” which serves as the lead single from the Osborne brothers' latest studio album. The track is scheduled to impact country radio stations on November 2, giving listeners a chance to hear the collaboration before it officially enters rotation.
The song appears on “Watertown,” the fifth studio album from John and TJ Osborne, which dropped on October 23. The 11-track project focuses on the brothers' upbringing in Deale, Maryland, drawing inspiration from their hometown and the experiences that shaped them. The title track of the album reflects this return to their origins.
This collaboration marks a reunion for the artists, as they previously worked together earlier this year. Brothers Osborne appeared on Johnson’s album “Banks of the Trinity” for the song “Fool Proof.” The new track continues their musical partnership, blending their distinct styles in a shared narrative.
Written by John Osborne, Lee Miller, and Kendell Marvel, “Born and Raised Hell” addresses themes of growing up and maintaining connection to one's past. The lyrics focus on the mischief and pride associated with a hometown, capturing memories that persist even after moving away. The composition aims to evoke a sense of nostalgia for listeners familiar with small-town life.
The accompanying music video, directed by Nick Swift, was filmed in Nashville. The production features a vintage aesthetic, showing the three artists performing together in a garage. Interspersed with the performance are scenes depicting youthful adventures, reinforcing the song's focus on formative years. The video is available now alongside the audio track.
