Early voting for the 2026 midterm election is open in Texas.
Ballots are available for casting from Monday, October 19, through October 30. This period allows residents to vote before the general election takes place on November 3.
Voters in Bexar County can use any early voting location in the county to cast their ballot. The San Antonio Report has published a step-by-step guide for new and returning voters. The guide details the process from checking voter registration to entering the polling building. It also covers confirming registration, making selections, and printing the ballot.
The final step in the process involves inserting the printed ballot into the tabulator machine. The report notes that the League of Women Voters provided a vote machine and guidance for the video guide included in the materials.
A 2026 Voter Guide is available for residents to review candidates. The guide covers the Texas governor’s race, a contested U.S. Senate race, and Bexar County local races. It also includes information on education races, school finance issues, and positions on the county appraisal district.
Additional resources are available for voters who need assistance. These tools include a guide to finding a sample ballot, an education voter guide, and a BCAD voter guide. The video guide is also available in Spanish.
