31 days of Halloween events conclude this weekend in Denton, with organizers hoping for clear skies despite forecast rain.

The city’s annual festival culminates on October 31, drawing residents and visitors to the Square, local transit lines, and shopping centers for final celebrations.

The Denton A-Train will host its annual A-Train or Treat event at the Downtown Denton Transit Center on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. Participants can collect candy at stops along the route. Fares range from $1.50 to $3 and are available at the station or online at gopass.org.

A-Train or Treat is described as an annual family-friendly Halloween-themed ride. Costumes are encouraged for riders.

Downtown Denton businesses will participate in a trick-or-treat event from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. The event invites people to visit dozens of locations on the Square for candy and special offers.

Music lovers have several options. The Movie Tavern at 916 W. University Drive screens classic Halloween films with showtimes at 8 p.m. Friday and 10:45 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Paul Slavens presents a live score for the 1927 silent film The Unknown at The Big Top Tent on Friday at 8 p.m.

Sundown Collaborative Theatre performs Witches (A Devised Piece) at Theatre Denton Annex from Friday to Sunday. Tickets cost between $14 and $20. The production explores the passage of time and the reclaiming of identity.

Cyclists can join Denton Critical Mass for a 10-mile costume ride starting at 7:30 p.m. Friday from the UNT Language Arts Building.

The Parker House at 8550 W. University Drive offers three haunted house attractions starting at 7 p.m. Friday. The venue also features food trucks, a musical light show, and vendors in the courtyard.

On Saturday, the Big Top Tent hosts a Halloween Night Party from 6 to 10 p.m. Buffalo Ruckus and a surprise headliner will perform. A Dolly Parton costume contest is part of the event.

The Lil’ D Storytelling Guild tells scary stories in City Hall Cemetery from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday. This is the final weekly session before Halloween day ends the 31-day festival period. The cemetery is located at 215 E. McKinney St. and the event is open to the public as Halloween officially happens on Saturday for the city's celebration timeline, though the holiday falls on October 31 in 2026, making the Saturday event the pre-holiday finale described in the source as the 'final chance' before the official day, or simply the final weekly event listed for Saturday in the source which aligns with the weekend leading up to the 31st. Wait, the source says 'With Halloween officially happening on Saturday, this is your final chance'. This implies the source considers Saturday the main event day or the day before. I will stick to the source text: The guild tells stories on Saturday, marking the final weekly session before the holiday weekend concludes the 31-day period. Actually, the source says 'Halloween day marks the official end.. this weekend'. Then it lists Saturday events. Then it says 'With Halloween officially happening on Saturday'. This is a specific claim in the source. I must use it. 'The guild tells stories in City Hall Cemetery from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Organizers note that this is the final chance to attend the weekly storytelling event before the holiday.',
