Ashley Paul Griffith was charged with 202 offences in New South Wales on Thursday.

The counts cover alleged crimes committed between 2014 and 2017 while Griffith worked at a childcare centre in Sydney's inner west.

Griffith arrived in NSW on Wednesday after being extradited from Queensland.

He is currently held at Silverwater Correctional Complex.

The indictment includes 68 counts of rape of a child under 10 and 42 counts of aggravated rape of a child under 10 who was under Griffith's authority.

Police also filed 69 counts of aggravated indecent assault and 23 charges for producing child abuse material.

NSW Police said the allegations involve 23 victims aged between one and five.

Assistant Commissioner Brett Greentree stated the investigation involved collaboration with police across Australia.

Greentree described the allegations as deeply disturbing and noted that the victims are among the most vulnerable members of the community.

He said NSW Police is committed to identifying those who exploit positions of trust.

Griffith was sentenced to life in prison in Queensland in November 2024.

He pleaded guilty to more than 300 sexual offences against nearly 70 victims in that state's court system.
