44 years later, Marcus Theatres sets $5 draft price for Brewers games

Marcus Theatres cut the price of domestic drafts to $5 at participating Milwaukee area locations as the Brewers prepare for the World Series. The chain announced the price change alongside a slate of watch parties and special movie screenings on Thursday.

The promotion is part of a wider effort to mark the team's return to the postseason after a 44 year wait. Jeff Tomachek, president of Marcus Theatres, said the company has been waiting for this moment. "We've been waiting 44 years for a moment like this, and we couldn't be more excited to celebrate alongside our Milwaukee community," Tomachek said.

Game day deals at the participating sites include $9 Game Time Lemonades, $10 medium pizzas, and half-off appetizers. The chain is also screening two films related to Milwaukee baseball history. The titles are "UECK" and "Just a Bit Outside: The Story of the 1982 Milwaukee Brewers."

Tomachek said the company wants its theaters to serve as gathering places for fans. He noted that attendees can revisit stories from the 1982 season or simply drink with friends while cheering on the team.

Fans can watch the games on large screens and digital projectors in the bars and lounges at several locations. Participating watch party sites include Movie Tavern Brookfield, Marcus Majestic Cinema of Brookfield, Marcus Renaissance, Marcus Menomonee Falls, Marcus North Shore Cinema, and Marcus BistroPlex. The Wall at Gurnee Cinema is also hosting a sports bar experience.

The two documentary screenings will take place at ten different locations. These include Marcus Bay Park Cinema in Ashwaubenon, Marcus Green Bay East Cinema in Green Bay, and Marcus Hillside Cinema in Delafield. Other sites hosting the films are Marcus Hollywood Cinema and Marcus Valley Grand Cinema in Appleton, Marcus Majestic Cinema of Brookfield in Waukesha, Marcus Menomonee Falls Cinema in Menomonee Falls, Marcus Renaissance Cinema in Sturtevant, Marcus Ridge Cinema in New Berlin, Marcus Sheboygan Cinema in Sheboygan, and Marcus South Shore Cinema in Oak Creek.

Members of the Magical Movie Rewards program will receive a voucher for one free Junior popcorn if they see any movie through Oct. 31. The voucher is redeemable from Nov. 4 through Nov. 24. New members can sign up for free before their visit to qualify. Ticket prices, specific screening dates, and showtimes are listed on the Marcus Theatres website and mobile app.
