A 46-year-old Trenton resident is now behind bars in Mount Clemens after allegedly driving to the home of rapper Marshall Mathers, professionally known as Eminem. Savage is being held in Macomb County Jail on one count of aggravated stalking, a felony that carries a maximum sentence of five years.
Prosecutors say Savage violated an existing injunctive order that barred her from contacting Mathers. Security personnel at the residence noticed her on the property and called law enforcement. Officers took Savage into custody on Wednesday, Oct. 28.
Magistrate Ryan Zemke set her bond at $250,000 cash during an arraignment in 41B District Court. If she is released on that amount, she will be required to wear a GPS tether. The court also ordered that she have no contact with Mathers, refrain from possessing weapons, and remain within the state of Michigan.
County Prosecutor Pete Lucido commented on the case, noting that individuals deserve to feel safe in their homes without fear of harassment. He stated that these protections apply to everyone, regardless of their public profile or celebrity status.
Savage is scheduled to return to court on Nov. 9 for a probable cause conference. The case is currently pending in Wayne County courts.
