Police arrested a 23-year-old man from Givatayim on Saturday night after he shoved a bodyguard during a rally in Tel Aviv. The incident occurred while Naftali Bennett, the former prime minister and chairman of the B'Yachad party, was speaking at an event demanding a commission of inquiry into the failures leading to the October 7 massacre.

According to sources, the suspect was under the influence of alcohol and attempted to breach the security perimeter surrounding Bennett. He shouted "Only Bibi," a slogan supporting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, while moving toward the former leader. Guards instructed him to stop, but he continued to push forward.

When one guard pushed the man back, the suspect confronted the officer and shoved him in return. Security personnel subdued the man and held him at the scene until police arrived at the park. Officers arrested the suspect and transported him to a local police station for questioning.

An initial check revealed that the man had no prior criminal record. Investigators are currently examining the specific circumstances of the altercation. Bennett served as prime minister from June 2021 to June 2022.

The arrest takes place days before the 2026 Knesset elections. IDF soldiers have already cast their votes at military polling stations earlier this week.
