American personnel stationed in the Middle East face expanded air defense coverage as the US military transports a complete Patriot system from Texas to Israel. The transfer includes radar equipment, an engagement control station, missile launchers, and interceptor missiles. This deployment is part of a wider effort to fortify American positions against potential Iranian retaliation.

The move coincides with the relocation of troops from bases identified by officials as vulnerable to attack. According to The Wall Street Journal, Washington has informed several Gulf Arab nations to prepare for a short, intense campaign against Iran following the November 3 midterm elections. US forces are currently replenishing munitions stockpiles while bomber aircraft and fighter jets undergo preparation for possible strikes.

Military buildup in the region has accelerated in recent months. An additional aircraft carrier strike group and a Marine Expeditionary Unit are expected to join the approximately 20 US warships currently operating in the Middle East in November. Some existing vessels may rotate out of the area. This expansion follows a previous decision in October to send the USS Theodore Roosevelt and additional Marine personnel to the region to broaden Washington's operational options.

President Donald Trump has not finalized a decision on launching a new campaign, though he is reportedly leaning toward strikes on Iranian infrastructure and nuclear facilities. A negotiated agreement remains a possibility. The timing and scope of any renewed military action remain uncertain. US intelligence officials have also warned that Iranian efforts to target American citizens have intensified.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio received an intelligence memorandum on Friday confirming the rise in Iranian plots against US officials. Separately, two diplomatic sources stated on October 15 that Tehran instructed Hezbollah to increase its readiness for a possible renewed conflict. Iran has threatened to expand its retaliation if the US and Israel resume attacks, targeting energy infrastructure, airports, and other civilian facilities across the Persian Gulf.
